The South African colonisation started in 1652, when the Dutch East India Company started their colony at Cape of good hope. When they made it permanent, they told the indigenous people to either move away or work for them as slaves. So those who chose to leave, left their homes and went to find a new place to settle down and recover from what had just happened.

In the 1970's the Canadian government recognised how badly the Inuit were being treated, so they decided to work together with the Inuit to create a better life for all. For a little while it worked. The people started to combine the new and the old and they started to accept the Inuit's practising their own religion. However there were still many parts in the society that need to be fixed. The living conditions of the Canadian Aboriginal communities are ranked 63rd on the United Nations human development index. Most of the children suffer from mental or physical disabilities, live in poverty are involved with alcohol and drugs and are caught up in the youth criminal justice system. One in ten aboriginal children are placed in care whereas only one in 200 non-aboriginal children are placed in care. Aboriginal children are more likely to contract diseases such as TB and diabetes. 70% of Canadian natives will not graduate from high school. Most of the Inuit population are illiterate or live in underdeveloped regions. We believe the Canadian goverment should find a way to improve the Inuit population's education and skills in order for them to be able to contribute to their communities.

The Impact of Colonisation on Indigenous people in Indonesia
    DURING COLONISATION
The indigenous people of Indonesia went through a lot of hardship to hold their rights. Right from
In 1780 the beginningBritish forced out the Dutch ruled by force. Inand pursued their goal on taking over the 1800s the heartless Dutch controlled the whole island of Java. The Dutch declared war against the Javanese residents. The frightful war claimed approximately 8,000 European soldiers, and at least 200,000 innocent Javanese lives, both militaryspice companies and civilian. The war also created an unnecessary financial burden forindustries. A short time later the Dutch Government. General Johannes van den Bosch who wasBritish handed the governor till 1833 introduces a new proposal often known as the “cultural system”. This system was very callous. The villages were forced to pay land tax in cashback to the government, but in order to do so, they were forced to cultivate export commodities such as coffee, sugar, indigo and spices, and sell these commodities to the Netherlands Trading Company, for a low, the Netherlands trading company was set up in 1824 and was heavily invested by the greedy Dutch King.

empire. The Dutch tried helpingshowed more sympathy towards the Indonesians but it often lead to wars, “Hundreds of thousands of people in Java have been slaughtered because we wanted to make them happy”. In 1901 the Dutch started to enforce another system known as the “Ethical Policy”. This policy was mainly enforced because the cultural system proved to be unjusttime passed, and unfair. The “Ethical System” was to create a new government system, to transfer authority to the Indonesians, and to provide health care and education. However, this policy was even more outrageous than the previous systems. The Dutch took full advantage of the colonisation in order to benefit their needs. The education provided by the Dutch made benefit by only providing a very minimal amount of education and the health issuesnatives were also helped satisfactorily. By all this nonsense the Dutch gained a lot of respect and wealth.granted personal rights.

independent nation, and Nihalhave been for some time. The Indonesians regained their culture and control over their land. The Indonesian people now own major industries revolving around natural resources such as rice and fresh fruit. Although, there is some poverty in Indonesia, it has gotten better. Not many countries have tried taking over the land of Indonesia since the 1900s.
